Macca after experience upfront?

Leeds boss Gary McCallister appears to be targetting an experienced front man. With the undoubted success of loan signing Dougie Freedman at the back end of last season, it is no real suprise. Macca looks like he is after more of the same with some aging big name forwards linked.

As well as Freedman again being targetted, ex Sunderland and England forward Kevin Phillips has been approached - a deal looks unlikely as Phillips is still good enough to play at a higher level.  Andy Cole is the other big name in the frame, and he is on a free after his release from Burnley.  With Anthony Elding expected to move on, and Torre Andre Flo retiring, there is clearly a gap up front to partner Jermaine Beckford, and the Leeds boss looks like he wants someone to bring the exciting, yet developing striker on....
