Elland Road saw chaotic scenes yesterday as fans queued through the night for tickets. The queues started around lunchtime on Tuesday, and by the time the ticket office opened at 9.00 on Wednesday morning, there were an estimated 10,000 people in the line. The night saw a lot of banter with songs belted out, camp fires burning, and many games of football and cricket played. Desperate fans near the back of the queue kept trying to force their way to the front, and unfortunately some managed to push in. The ticket office eventually shut late afternoon, and many were left disappointed, with all 36,000 tickets snapped up. Many headed over to Doncaster to see if there were any spare there, but the sheer volumes of Leeds supporters who went over led to the Doncaster ticket office suspending their sales to ensure that the tickets stayed in the right hands… Much more build up here as the week goes on…
